Contemplation is the practice by which we still ourselves and fix our attention on the presence of God. So often the inner and outer voices surrounding us can deafen the still, small voice of God. In contemplation we open our minds and hearts to that voice and its invitation to follow the way of Jesus.
Over the course of each semester we engage in this practice of contemplation through our Contemplative Service. The service incorporates prayer, the reading of scripture, communion, music, guided reflection, and other disciplines toward the end of cultivating a deeper awareness of the presence of God.
